About HKICM

Established in 1997, Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers ("Institute" or "HKICM") is the only local professional institution representing the construction management profession in Hong Kong. HKICM has 3,439 members, of which 1,285 were Corporate Members (including Fellows and Members).

The Institute was established to promote professional excellence in the management of both building and civil works. Our objectives are to secure the advancement and facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and expertise which constitutes and promotes the practice of and professionalism in construction management.

 

About CMA

The Construction Management Awards (CMA) was first organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers (HKICM) in 2016. It aims to recognise the achievements of construction management teams and practitioners, and also to maintain and strengthen the utmost standards of professionalism and competitiveness in the construction industry.

There are more than 1,000 construction projects in Hong Kong per year and each requires a professional working team to oversee planning, design, and construction for project completion. The Awards provides a platform for individuals and management teams to exhibit their projects with the highest expertise in terms of project management, complexity and innovation, time management, safety, health and environmental management, and financial management, which are the crucial principles of an architectural project.


Nomination // Eligibility

Eligibility

For Excellent Construction Team Award

  1. Nominees are required to enroll in all the Award Categories per entry.

  2. Project must be in the territorial limits of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.

  3. Eligible project should possess either Occupation Permits (OP or Phased OP), Acknowledgement letters on Form BA14, Confirmation letter of Substantial Completion or Certificate of Completion (in the case of Government / HA Projects) within the specified period as stated.

  4. Projects submitted for previous Construction Management Awards cannot be resubmitted for this year’s nomination.

  5. Project Teams, with all team members, are required to conduct a presentation to the Jury Panel once they are shortlisted.


For Young Construction Manager Award

  1. The nominee must be a member of HKICM (FHKICM/ MHKICM).

  2. Entries can either be submitted by self-nomination or by third-party nominee.

  3. The nominee must born after 31 August 1986.

  4. Nominees are required to conduct a presentation to the Jury Panel once they are shortlisted.


(New) For Excellent Construction Safety Culture Award

  1. Nominations must be submitted on a company basis

  2. Nominees are required to conduct a presentation to the Jury Panel once they are shortlisted.


(New) For Excellent Construction Innovation Enterprise

  1. Nominations must be submitted on a company basis

  2. Nominees must provide a demonstration Building or Civil project that was completed, or reached a major milestone, between 1 January 2021 and 31 August 2026.

  3. Nominees are required to conduct a presentation to the Jury Panel once they are shortlisted.


For ALL Award Categories

  1. Entries can either be submitted by self-nomination or by third-party nominee.

  2. Company are required to conduct a presentation to the Construction Management Awards 2026 Jury Panel once shortlisted by the Organizing Committee. The finalist qualification will be disqualified if the company is unable to conduct their presentation to the jury panel.

  3. HKICM holds the right not to bestow an award if the Jury Panel considered no nomination has earned an award.

  4. Decisions of the Jury Panel shall be final for the awards assignment.

  5. HKICM reserves the right to make the final decision on all submissions and judging processes.
