The concept is to reflect the lifecycle perspective of our built environment which is categorized into 4 key stages: from research / planning, new design and construction, operation and maintenance, and renovation / deconstruction. The notion of sustainability has to be embedded in each of these stages with a view to conserving our environment, locally and globally. This echoes the underlying vision of the Green Building Award initiated by the Professional Green Building Council, Hong Kong.
